Service Description

An offering specifically for health care workers who have found themselves in a position of being morally injured. Others might be asking you if you are burned out, but the problem is not you or the self-care that you are or are not able to administer to yourself. The problem is a system that creates situations that cause persisting distress in situations that go against your deeply held beliefs and expectations you carried in to the work you were called to do. Use this time to put your injuries on the table for witnessing and unloading. This discussion can center difficult cases you’d like to talk through in a neutral space outside of work where you don’t have to caretake the listener. Maybe you want to talk about an overall frustration with a system that makes it increasingly difficult to care for your patients. Perhaps you need a place to vent about how your training is different than you’d expected it to be, to someone who understands the healthcare system but works outside of it. I bring almost a decade of experience working closely with physicians in academic medicine along with my experience of tending to grief in many forms to this space to support you. It is where you can share what weighs on your heart from the work you’ve been called to do without having to caretake the listener, so that you may move forward in that work and feel a bit lighter and seen and validated in your humanity. All sessions are completely confidential. I am not affiliated with any health care institution. If you are a physician in residency or fellowship training, use GME50 for 50% off the price of your session.
